Goldie C. Kendall, 105, of Rochester, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield.

She was born on Feb. 18, 1911, on the family farm near Waldron, Saskatchewan, in Canada, the daughter of William and Ida (Finley) Clark.

She received her Certificate of Naturalization Citizenship in October 1936.

She married George Kendall on Aug. 3, 1951; later divorced.

She worked 42 years as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell and enjoyed 43 years of retirement.

Family and friends were her love and joy. She spent the past 30 years living with her son and his family. Over the years she enjoyed many visits from her family in Canada. She loved to laugh. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was always ready for a good cup of coffee and a game of cribbage.

She is survived by her son, Donald (Kathryn) of Rochester; one grandson, Samuel (Olivia); great-grandson, William Kendall and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by nine brothers and two sisters.

Memorial services was held on Saturday, April 30, at Preston United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Stoeger officiating. There will be a private family burial.
