The District Superintendent of the River Valley District of the United

Methodist Church, Minnesota Annual Conference, has announced that it is the

intention of Bishop Sally Dyck to appoint the Rev. Debra Jene Collum as

pastor of the United Methodist Church in Chatfield. Acting on behalf of the

congregation, the Staff Parish Relations Committee has confirmed the

Bishop's intention.

Collum is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, St. Paul and of

Luther Northwestern Seminary, St. Paul. She also studied at United

Theological Seminary of the Twin cities and North Park Theological Seminary

in Chicago. Most recently, she served the Faith United Methodist Church in

Waseca. She has also been an Ecumenical Coordinator at Luther Seminary, St.

Paul and lead pastor at Riverview United Methodist Church, Brooklyn Park,

Minn.

Collum was recently married to Steve Strickler and they have two

daughters, two sons, two granddaughters, and three grandsons.

She will assume her duties as pastor on June 26 with worship and

communion. A reception will be held in her honor on June 26 following the

worship service with a potluck meal at 10:45 a.m. in the Chatfield United

Methodist Church, 124 Winona Street SE, Chatfield.
