These band students from Spring Grove performed in the 68th annual Dorian Band Festival on Feb. 27 at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. The grand concert featured three concert bands led by three different conductors. None of the Spring Grove students were placed in the Symphonic Band led by Joan deAlbuquerque, director of bands at Luther College.

The Sperati Band, led by Linda Moorhouse of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, was made up of approximately 215 students, which included: Claire Bratland, flute II, Stine Myrah, alto sax I, and Devon Nerstad, baritone sax. They played Earth Song, God of Our Fathers, Novo Lenio, and Sabre and Spurs.

The Noble Band, conducted by Christopher White, director of sports bands at the University of Maine, included Chris Lamm, bassoon II, Danika Albert, clarinet II, Noah Myrah, alto sax I, Hannah Borreson, trumpet III, Ben Gray and Lance Hegge, euphonium, and Austin Patterson, tuba. They joined over 200 other students in performing Dedicatory Fanfare from The Odyssey, St. Florian Chorale, The Light Eternal and Hosts of Freedom.
