for Spanish immersion camp weekend
Wednesday, January 16, 2013 7:09 AM
The Fillmore Central Spanish Department and 2013 Spanish immersion camp participants are hosting a Spanish-themed banquet at Fillmore Central High School on Saturday.
The Spanish banquet will showcase freshly-prepared food from various Spanish-speaking countries, specifically Spain, Peru and Mexico. It will offer a three-course meal served family style at five themed tables: Spain, Peru, Mexico, Bolivia and Argentina.
Approximately 25 to 30 tickets are still available at $20 each, with the proceeds being used to cover the transportation costs of a weekend at a Spanish immersion camp near Bemidji, Minn., through the Concordia Language Villages.
Eight Fillmore Central Students will be attending the Spanish immersion camp during the weekend of Feb. 1-3.
Two of the participants received full scholarships that were generously provided by On the Crunchy Side Restaurant and Randi Berg, Diana Nelson and Marlene Connelly from Gundersen Lutheran Clinic of Harmony.
The immersion camp participants will be assisting in all aspects of the Spanish banquet, including food preparation, decoration, service, cleaning, presenting, greeting and more.
If one is interested in purchasing tickets to the event, please contact Fillmore Central Spanish teacher Brian Wolfgram at (507) 213-3677 or email him at email@example.com.
