“Spiritual Healing and Intuitive Body Work” was the program presented by Julie Teslow on March 8 at the Golden Happenings senior citizen group in Harmony. A total of 21 members enjoyed hearing her history and history of spiritual healing and intuitive body work. She talked about her experience and shared pamphlets, books and devices and demonstrated some techniques to use in the aid of healing. On Wednesday, March 15, a craft day was held at the community center senior room. On March 22, at 2 p.m., the group will go to the Harmony care center to provide bingo and prizes for residents. On the March 24, at 11:15 a.m., the group will celebrate its March birthdays with a luncheon at the Harmony House Senior Dining. After lunch, a game will be played with door prizes. On Wednesday, March 29, at 1 p.m., a game day will be held at the community center senior room. All seniors are welcome to join us for any of the events, including Senior Book Club.

April will be a very busy month for the senior group! On Wednesday, April 5, at 1 p.m., Sterling Pharmacy will give a program on “Health of the Senior Community.” Bring questions and problems and ask the pharmacist! Wednesday, April 12, also at 1 p.m., is craft day in the senior room. April birthdays will be celebrated on Friday, April 28, at 11:15 a.m. at the Harmony House.

On Wednesday, April 19, at 4:30 p.m. is the Vintage Hat and Style Show by Heather Edgington. It will be held in the community center gym with refreshments. This is a program of beauty and education of the last 100 years. Admission is a donation of canned goods for the local food shelf.

The “Welcome Wagon” is a new project the senior group will be providing for Harmony! The Harmony Chamber of Commerce asked the group if it would be interested and this is one of the things people wanted to see brought back! There are four pairs of members that will take turns visiting new residents. Last year there were 24 new families in Harmony.

Reminder: Exercise classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday at 8 a.m. in the community center gym. This is sponsored by the Arthritis Foundation and Sandy Tammel is the instructor. Pickle Ball is held after the exercise class on Thursday. New members are welcome!

Membership to Golden Happenings is free but members are asked to serve dessert or snacks once during the year.

The goal of the group is to promote fellowship with social and educational programs for the 55 and over age group.
